That’s how Amway was. And they sometimes marketed themselves as a Christian organization.

What an elegantly insightful post. And I can’t tell you how disturbing it is that a great many Christian denominations have been taken over by political zealots. That is a phenomenon that needs an expedited reversal.

And this appears to be the outcome:

"SUNDAY attendance at Episcopal churches in the United States has almost halved in the past decade. It has fallen by 43 per cent to an average of 373,000. The number of baptised has also decreased steadily, by 21 per cent over the decade, with a fall of more than 90,000 in 2021-22 alone."

We're seeing the same in some denominations in the UK.

As a former Piskie, I can confirm this hemorrhage. And at this point, I think that it’s divine judgment, or a “holy dying,” as another one of their benighted bishops described it.

It was jarring hearing her, flanked by her hubris, spout evil at the prayer breakfast. There was nothing pastoral about her. A wolf in pastors clothing.

Yah I can’t stand when people politicize everything. It feels deeply manipulative. But of course I’m sure they think they are being very brave.

I'm reminded about Obama speaking at the Charleston Nine funeral and turning it to be about himself.

The response was instantaneous. Those against Trump cheered her and jeered him and the comments were all the same. Then the backlash/support came from the supporters. It all left me wondering if the public has collectively lost the ability to think beyond political persuasions and preconceived biases. The worst was the defense made by some Christians. It's almost as if you are Christian and didn't vote for the President (or voted as a way to vote against Harris) you have to agree with any and all criticisms made by Trump's detractors. Heaven forbid I should love Jesus but criticize such bravery and look (horror of horrors) like I support Trump. It's all so ridiculous and sad.

What was it Henry II said? "Will no one rid us of this meddlesome Bishop". That is too harsh and I don't suggest a similar treatment to that meted out to Thomas a' Becket but theses people really are aggravating. Well said Keith.
