The church I'm a part of is hosting a morning seminar this Saturday on "God and Justice". Dr. Bob Chisholm, a very good friend who also happens to chair the Old Testament department at Dallas Theological Seminary is going to do the heavy lifting. Yours truly will open things up with a brief framing of the discussion.
The purpose is to offer some clarity, in the midst of lots of evangelical noise, about the question of justice, what God expects from us, and whether the modern habit of using the Old Testament prophets in support of social justice is a valid use of the biblical text. We'll also be talking about how the gospel is being larded up with cruft that isn't actually...well...the gospel.
Anyway, it's going to be live-streamed and there will be a Q&A at the end that I'll be part of.
