Nanci Griffith Is Gone

Someone who added to the sum total of artistic beauty has died.

The Grammy award winning song writer died this week. Here she is singing one of her famous songs, "Love At the Five and Dime".

My favorite of hers is "Trouble in the Fields" and this rendition by Carson McKee, recorded at the very beginning of the pandemic, seemed to offer a warm and humane reaction to the troubles headed our way.  I don't think I'll ever be able to remember the start of the pandemic without thinking of this rendition.

May she rest in peace.
