The CDC Flunks Statistics

Interesting read. The pandemic of 2020 was rather less impactful to life expectancy than the CDC breathlessly announced. This is not a comment on whether it was bad or life threatening. Merely an observation about how the CDC computed life expectancy for their announcement yesterday.

My own estimate is that when Covid-19’s ravages in 2020 are averaged across the country’s entire population, we each lost about five days of life.
