Escalating A Crisis

So the mayor of Ottawa has ordered the police to start confiscating fuel and supplies being given to the truckers.  They've also started arresting protesters.

Richard Fernandez is asking characteristically useful questions in his latest post today. But in his Twitter feed he asks, "If they arrest the truckers, what will happen to the supply chain?"

Just so.

Another clever commenter observed (I paraphrase): "So if the government tolerated the BLM protests and stood by doing nothing, but they're cracking down on the truckers. we're going to have to assume that the BLM protests were actually government policy."

Yes. Yes we are.

I'm ready now to live in less interesting times.
